Apart from providing a basic repair facility for local community members we also work closely with a number of community groups.
Blackheath Neighbourhood Centre (BANC)
BANC has commissioned the Shed on a number of occasions to build and install projects that are beneficial to the community. This included 6 street library boxes installed in Blackheath, Megalong, Medlow Bath and Lawson and we are currently building bee hives for distribution to other interested groups such as local community farms.
Blackheath Rhododendron Gardens
We are currently building 5 park benches to replace those lost during the 2019 bushfires. We have also worked with the Rhodo Gardens to build nesting boxes for birds, possums and micro bats which were also destroyed during the fires.
Sacred Heart Catholic Church
We are also currently building and supplying parks benches for the church to allow them to better utilise the lovely church grounds by making it more accessible to the public.
Local Shops
We are fortunate that a number of local shops have allowed us to place donation boxes on their premises. These include Blackheath Fish and Chips, Dash’s Pharmacy, Blackheath Butchery and the Friendly Grocer.
